For several years I was hired by the Downtown Naperville Alliance in suburban Chicago to photograph ad campaigns, social media posts and for print ads. We’d get a group of amateur ‘models’ together and shoot them shopping, enjoying the local restaurants, having an ice cream and just walking the streets of one of Illinois’ largest communities. I also did similar shoots for the Downtown Wheaton Association, just down the road from Naperville, and where I’ve lived for over 35 years.
It was fun work and I always looked forward to the shoots. I think we got some funny looks from some of the shoppers walking past us, but our ‘models’ always had a blast!
