Experience in a photographer matters… you name it, I’ve photographed it.

"I've traveled around the world two or three times, driven to Alaska and back, ridden a bike, walked and hitchhiked across Kansas and Oklahoma, melted a camera while shooting a solar eclipse, watched the Osage Indian tribe perform a dance in my honor, met Princess Diana twice, slept in a cemetery, and spent the night on the streets in London– all in the pursuit of a great photo. And that was all before I turned twenty-five. More than three decades later, I still have that same passion for great photography and bring it to every job I shoot, no matter how big or small. I love my job and can't imagine doing anything else.

I got my start in the world of professional photography when I photographed Princess Diana and the British Royal Family during the late 1980's. That experience taught me how to think fast, work in difficult situations, compose quickly and above all, to be patient. I had no idea back then what great training that would be for my life as a professional photographer.

I love my job. It's the only one I've ever had. I love the variety in my work and being able to go places most people never get to experience– backstage at concerts, on the sidelines at sporting events, the back of house at restaurants, factories and hotels. Being part of a small team that works to promote businesses and people and show them in their best light. Walking at the head of a parade in front of half a million people. Being in the operating room during a surgical procedure and watching someone’s heart beating inside their chest. Shooting a new multimillion dollar hospital or luxury apartments before they're opened to the public. Or getting up early on a beautiful summer morning to photograph trees for a nationally renowned arboretum. It never gets old.

Of course, there are mundane jobs to shoot too. But I still enjoy getting to meet people and collaborate with them to create the best images possible in order to promote the work they're doing. Even head shots, coffee cups and eyeglasses can look interesting with the right lighting and setup :)

As well as my commercial photography, I’m also a fine art photographer, and have sold hundreds of prints to collectors over the past 30+ years, and had my work featured in Outdoor Photographer (UK), Black and White, and COLOR magazines, as well as a 27-page article on my photography in f/11 Magazine. My landscape work was recently featured in Medium Format magazine and Elements Magazine. And, since 2018, I have been leading workshops for landscape photographers every autumn in Acadia National Park in Maine.

I’m also an FAA-licensed drone pilot, with Part 107 certification.

Have cameras, always willing to travel :)
